Massif du Nord : ウィキペディア英語版
Massif du Nord

The Massif du Nord is the longest mountain range in Haiti, located in the north. It rises in part on the department North and that of the Artibonite. The altitude varies from 600 to 1210 meters. It is the western extension of the Cordillera Central that runs through the Dominican Republic.〔(Britannica: Massif du Nord )〕 This channel extends to the northwest under the name of the ''Chaîne du Haut-Piton''. To the north of this mountain lies the coastal plain of the narrow northern plain. South of the North massive flows the Guayamouc River.〔(Country Studies - Haiti: Geography )〕 The Massif du Nord separates the city of Cap-Haïtien from the capital Port-au-Prince.
After the Haitian Revolution, the Citadelle Laferrière was built by King Henri Christophe. It overlooks the city of Cap-Haitien from its height of 865 meters.
